TMAT POLICY OF THE MONTH

A Prostate Seed Implant Program requires a numerous amount of documentation to run smoothly and efficiently.  Download this "Prostate Seed Implant Program" policy that provides an outline of the following:  training, clinical scope, radiation safety, quality control and documentation.  

Note - this policy follows the ACR Practice Guideline for Transperineal Permanent Brachytherapy of Prostate Cancer and the recommendations from the AAPM Task Group 43.  All documents listed in this policy are available on our web portal. 

 
NEWS AND INFORMATION

The state of New Jersey requires that "New or existing radiation oncology facilities shall be fully accredited by the ACR or the ACRO within three years of the effective date of these rules and maintained thereafter."  
See page 133 (129 of the document), Section 8:43A-30.7 of the New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services Standards for Licensure of Ambulatory Care Facilities.
Supposedly the states of NY and AL have the same requirement.  More to come. . .  . .
